There is great diversity among the associations formed by the Cameroonian community in Germany.
People liked to form associations and dedicate a large part of their free time on Sundays to meetings and association activities. Among the most important are associations of students, professionals, returnees or alumni, associations based on regional and ethnic background, associations focusing on development and general umbrella associations such as Challenge Camerounais.

Cameroonian cultural clubs organise and connect Cameroonians in a city or region in Germany. They often focus on cultural events, self-help and sport. Some 20 of these cultural associations are organised in the Challenge Camerounais. Some of them focus on integration aspects. These clubs often connect Cameroonians from the same home region and usually aim to promote their cultural legacy and common language, and other traditions. These associations also serve as a solidarity fund and savings model. They often carry out small development projects or collect donations for charities in Cameroon.
